Hello Readers, and Happy Mother's Day!
Today I am excited to be playing with the new MoYou London "Mexico" collection, which I got as my Mother's Day present this year. (You see, my husband knows not to buy me flowers. Instead he sends me to buy polish and plates, ha ha.)
This mani is a bit more out of the "traditional" and more vibrant than I usually like to do for my Simple Sunday posts, but I just couldn't help it. The Mexico collection inspiration I've been seeing from MoYou London is all so vibrant and beautiful, I was dying to use some bright, saturated hues.
I love this collection so much I just cannot even handle it. I have to let out a *squeeee*!
So I was trying to stick to the more traditional "feminine" colors to make this appropriate for a Simple Sunday, which is why I went for pink and purple. Also, this pink is the exact color of the lipstick my Abuelita used to wear.
Here's a peek at the "Mexico 01" plate that I used for this mani. I made a decal for my ring finger to get that fun, vibrant look and then just used the companion image for my other nails. To get the cuticle triangle on my middle finger, I simple used the corner of the same image.
I hope everyone out there who celebrates it is having a lovely Mother's Day!
These are soooo cute!!! I am so in love with those bright and bold colors and the amazing patterns. That plate was definitely a good Mother's Day gift!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I think the bold colors are part of what makes these plates so fun to play with. The looks MoYou London came up with to go with them are so inspiring!
DeleteThis is gorgeous but do you know what? Your 'simple' manicures are always so beyond simple! I wouldn't know how to create something like this! It looks fabulous and I love the vibrancey of it! Also think you've got the hubby well trained! ;)
ReplyDeleteI know, right? :P Apparently I don't know how to make a "simple" mani- I'm sorry! I've been trying to tone it down... but my rule for these is that I normally allow myself to do one decal, since I figure if you are new to making decals starting off with just doing one on your mani is a good way to learn.
DeleteAs for my hubby.... ha ha yeah he is so funny. Such an enabler! It doesn't help me keep my polish stash in check when he tells me he will be disappointed if I don't buy myself some nail polish.
Thank you for your sweet comment!
Prettily combined shades :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I've been having lots of fun putting bold shades together with these- it's so fun for summer!
DeleteLove the colour and design. It's great that you've used a Mexico plate for a mani that doesn't look Mexican (does that make sense?). This is def a simple look, for a stamper, and I love how you break it all down for us.

Thank you for your kind words! Sometimes I'm not really sure what "simple" means; I know it does mean different things to different people. I appreciate all the feedback whether people agree or not!
