Challenge Your Nail Art: Winter

Hello Readers!

Today's mani is based on a Challenge Your Nail Art prompt, which is the broad category of "Winter" this time around.

I have been wanting to do a "Christmas Village" type manicure for a while, so I thought the "winter" prompt would be the perfect opportunity to do one!

This mani was fairly uncomplicated to do, though it did require some decal work. I started with two coats of Sinful Colors "Cool Cadet" for a gray winter sky, and then painted the tips of my nails with Sinful Colors "Snow Me White" to create a snowy ground for my houses.

Next, I created decals from this plate, which is a cheap dupe from Aliexpress. It's a dupe of a MoYou London plate from the "Mother Nature" collection:

...and that pretty much sums it up. Since I didn't feel like creating a million decals, I went for a simpler design on my other hand. Here's Cindy:

Nail Crazies Unite: Fall Foliage

Hello Readers!

Today's post is for the facebook group, "Nail Crazies Unite", for the second prompt: Fall Foliage. I feel like I have been doing a LOT of fall foliage manicures, (like this owl one, this pumpkin one, this sunflower one) but I had at least one more idea for it so here we go.

I decided to recycle the technique I used in the owl and pumpkin manicures I did earlier this fall and place leaf decals over a stamped pattern, but this time I was thinking about curling up on the couch with a good book in the fall, so I went with an "old book pages" look.

For the script and beetle pattern, I used a plate from the Bundle Monster "House of Horrors" collection that features Edgar Allen Poe:

And my leaves, once again, come from this handy plate:

My polish palette was pretty limited this time:

I have to say I am loving the Wet N Wild "Yo Soy" as a neutral. It did need two coats, but for some reason I have a hard time finding very many neutral colors for a decent price, and the wet n wild line is always a decent price. ;) I stamped with the OPI "Love is Hot and Coal", and I like the way it turned out.

Challenge Your Nail Art: Leaves

Hello Readers!

For today's Challenge Your Nail Art prompt, "leaves", I decided to do something a little bit different. I have already done a few traditional fall leaf manicures this October, and while I enjoy filling in the leaves with the lovely colors of fall, I just wasn't feeling it this time. It has been in the 90s where I live this week and our leaves haven't even started to think about changing, so I wanted to represent what I am seeing right now. I also wanted to lean more Halloweeney instead of fall this time.

So I painted my nails with a basic black. This is an LA colors black, and it was surprisingly opaque at only one coat, which is what I have pictured: just one coat. My middle and ring fingers have Sinful Colors "Tempest" on them. I then stamped my leaves from the very same leaf plate I have used many times this October with Bundle Monster stamping polish in "Jungle Mirage".

Here's my leaf plate:

Last, I stamped from this Bundle Monster plate with the LA Colors black polish:

A pretty simple stamping mani this time, quick and easy to do, but I am enjoying the bold colors on it. Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to check out the other manis in the facebook group, "Challenge Your Nail Art".

Challenge Your Nail Art: Pumpkins

Hello Readers!

Today I have a response to the "pumpkins" prompt for the Challenge Your Nail art group on Facebook. I've been looking forward to October for months now because I have been so excited to do fall and Halloween manis! So I'm excited to be participating in the group to see even more fun fall manis.

So today's stamping heavily features Bundle Monster's "holiday" round plate collection, which is an older collection. I made a pumpkin decal and had fun shading it in, as well as shading my leaves. I've really been enjoying coloring fall leaves in; they are really fun to do.

I also used this moyou london dupe plate for the second time this month:

As well as this farm themed plate from Bundle Monster's "Fuzzy and Ferocious" for the little barn:

I was originally going to do a scarecrow on my accent nail. I actually got it all painted for the decal and when I flipped it over, I hated it. So I decided to change directions and try out the barn image instead. In retrospect, I think the overall look would have been better if I had stuck to the basketweave background on all the nails and just had the one with a pumpkin. Oh, well, you live you learn right? I actually tried to take one of the smaller pumpkins and stamp it onto the foreground on the barn landscape, but it just didn't work. The scale was off and it looked too simple because all the other images have thin black borders. I tried to add detail to make it fit, but it was a fail so I ended up scraping it off and re-stamping the lower portion of my grass there. I later added little pumpkins just using a dotting tool, and then added a little highlight on them with a smaller dotting tool.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this fall-themed manicure. Thanks for stopping by today!
