Challenge Your Nail Art: Owls

Hello Readers!

Today's nails are for the newly re-opened Facebook group, "Challenge Your Nail Art". For the month of October there is a challenge every other day, and the October challenges are mostly centered around fall and Halloween. Super fun themes, so I decided to give it a try. I am a day late but here are my owl nails!

I decided to go with a strongly fall-leaning theme for my owl nails, because the weather is finally cooling down here and I am getting into the fall spirit. I decided to add a stack of books because owls and books traditionally go together, and I tried to place the leaf decals over them to suggest that maybe the owl has a stack of books hiding in his little owl tree.

My base orange polish is Essie's "Taj-ma-haul", and my main yellow is Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in "Lemon Heaven." I also used Sinful Colors "Courtney Orange" and the brown is LA Colors "Ruthless". My black- which I stamped with- is just the classic Wet N Wild black creme.

I actually used 4 different plates to achieve this look. The owl himself comes from Bundle Monster's "Fuzzy and Ferocious" collection:

My books come from this MoYou London plate from the "Alice in Wonderland" collection:

My scallops (I picked these because I thought that they kind of resembled owl feathers) are from Bundle Monster's "Hangloose" collection:
And finally, I made my little leaf decals with this Aliexpress dupe of a MoYou London plate, from the "Mother Nature" collection:

Hope you enjoyed these fall nails! Do you enjoy creating fall manis? What is your favorite theme? Let me know in the comments!

    1. Thank you! Yeah, that image is super awesome! I can think of so many geeky uses for it. It's one of the main reasons I bought that plate.
