Nail Crazies Unite: Candy Cane

Hello Readers!

Today's post is for the Nail Crazies Unite group on Facebook, where there are challenges every other week. This week's prompt is: Candy Canes! Candy cane nail art is a classic Christmas look so I'm excited to see what people do with it!

My candy cane nail art is pretty simple today. I was inspired by a heart design on a Valentines' day plate that I thought would be cute to pair with the classic candy cane stripes.

I started off with my favorite white, Sinful Colors "Snow Me White". I wanted my mani to be sparkly, so I added a coat of Sinful Colors "Hello Halo" on top, which is a white with some blueish shimmer that takes a lot of coats to reach opacity on its own. Next I did some stamping with BMC stamping polish in "Rose Garden", and finally finished with a shimmery topper (Milani "pearl-plexxed")

My diagonal stripes come from this Born Pretty plate. This was the first plate I bought, because I figured it was kind of the ultimate "basic" plate- it comes in handy a lot! This is the plate I would recommend as a starter plate for anyone wanting to dip their toes into stamping:

I also used this Bundle Monster plate, from the Create Your Own 2014 collection, for the hearts:
